How temple dermal filler treatments can improve your face and make you feel younger
Your temples lie at the side of your face, just beside your eyes. The tail of your eyebrows finishes at the front of your temples, and the upper edge meets your forehead. During the ageing process, we all lose volume in our temples. A hollowing of the temples is a natural part of the ageing process. Soft tissue and bone dissolves while muscle and fascia (your connective tissues) change. This leads to less structural support in the temple area, which results in folds, wrinkles and volume loss.
Typically this process starts in your mid 20’s and will become more obvious in your 40’s. If you exercise regularly, eat well and run, it’s possible that the ageing process and the hollowing of your temple region has been exacerbated.
As you age, a hollowing out in the temple area can cause an appearance that looks similar to a ‘peanut’ – a wide forehead, narrow temples and narrow cheeks. But there is a solution; the volume in your temples can be replaced using dermal fillers.
How to treat the temples with dermal filler treatments
Dermal filler treatment is very effective for temple treatment. With dermal filler injections we are able to revolumise and restore your temples. Due to Therapeutic Goods Administration rules, we can’t name any of the products we use.
Many dermal fillers are made from a clear gel composed of a substance that is naturally found in skin. Dermal fillers vary with viscosity, thickness, and longevity. We tend to use finer fillers in areas where your skin is fine and smoothness is critical, like your eye area and temple area.
Our dermal filler treatment for temples can be done with a blunt micro-cannula injection technique. A blunt micro-cannula temple filler technique involves a single puncture with a needle. This is passed through the top section of your outside eyebrow to a single point near the bone. We then inject dermal filler downwards to smooth and fill the area out.
